Megas made it so almost all pokemon that didn't get megas were inferior. z-moves are usable by EVERY pokemon thus making the comp scene possibly more diverse

I don't think Z-moves will have much of a presence in Meta at all. They can be shut down far too easy with protect/detect, and in the end a stronger Pokemon with a Z-move will still be more viable than a weaker one with the same move.

The models weren't leaked though, just prerendered sprites of the models.
And they didn't show any existing Megas, even of returning pokemon in the alola dex.

It can be one turn if you fuck up.
Z-moves are one turn even if you do fuck up.
A good hold item is going to be preferable to a Z-move most the time.

I think Z-moves will see use, but only by top of the line speedy attackers. It doesn't do anything to help Pokemon that didn't stand a chance in the first place, like everyone keeps proposing.
