I really dislike the flying models too. Some of them are fine flapping in place, but the gliding ones look very silly.

It's a shame because there are some really cool looking Pokemon such as Xatu that really got shafted.

I wonder if this is seriously just because of Sky Battles in X and Y. What a stupid reason to make so many Pokemon just float in the air.

These make me so fucking mad. They're clearly gliding, which is a means of propulsion, yet they're just fucking floating there. It's like if a bipedal Pokemon's idle animation was it walking but not going anywhere.

I don't know if you fucking retards are aware of this but turn based RPGs and many video games don't show combat in real fucking time. The implication is that these Pokemon are actually flying around the arena. No game fully animates turn based battles like this because it would be a logistical nightmare.

tldr use your fucking imagination, do you autists even play games outside of Pokemon?

M8, the issue we have is that instead of just making them stand on the ground (like Xatu and Tropius did prior to Gen 6, and how Oricorio and Dartix are in Gen 7) or making them fly by flapping their wings in place (like Archeops, Talonflame, etc) they half-assed it with the stupid glide.

They HAVE flapping animations. It wouldn't take anymore effort to just loop these. They chose to make some of them glide for variety. It's literally artistic choice.
