Apparently not, but the notification doesn't appear against Pokemon you haven't fought before.
first time fighting against a rockruff in the demo, the demo greninja's water shuriken wasn't listed as super effective, next time I fought a rockruff it had the notification.

I might sound like I'm nitpicking but it's sort of a nuisance to me. I hope there's an option to turn them off. I don't like the interface of the battle bottom screen anymore. It may take some getting used to.
