Pretty much every unova pokemon since after gen 5 gets no love from gamefreak, it's like they're trying to sweep them under the rug after failing to make zoroark the new lucario

Gen V sold like shit compared to other Pokemon games and the Mons are infamous for being commonly used as examples of bad Pokemon designs. It's not really a surprise that GF is trying to sweep it under the rug.

Chandelure is pretty much the only exception. And it sure as hell isn't just the "idiotic western fanbase" since Nips recently voted Simisear as their least favorite Pokemon of all time.

Pretty sure it's more because it's new.
With Gen6 it was only 1 generation removed... so of course it wouldn't see any buffs or whatever.
Now that it'S 2+ generations back, you can expect to start to see things like megas or whatever for the Gen5 mons.
