Emerald and RB were the only games where there were more gym leaders with more than 3 Pokémon. RB had 3 leaders with 4 and 1 with 5 while in Emerald there were 5 leaders with 4 and 1 with 5.

This, and also making Umbreon and Espeon unavaliable was unacceptable. It was the only generation where you couldn't catch all non legendaries pokemon with only the two versions of the main game.

Just checked on both serebii and bulbapedia and they both said that Espeon and Umbreon were unavaliable unless you traded them from Colosseum/XD or get them in an event.

especially in a game where you aren't spoonfed like on smogon with PP Max and some sell away their Ether and Elixir and if a region isn't really generous with Leppa Berry

Phoebe for example has an absolute PP stalling cancer team, Sidney has evasion that does almost the same, Glacia's Glalie has Pressure too

While after Koga there are still trainers like Karen and the Double Team Umbreon even if her rematch Umbreon is a little more reliable in general compared to any other ingame Umbreon trainer

You know what's worse?
The HGSS rematch teams worked well for some like Will, Bruno, to an acceptable level for Karen and Koga but holy shit Lance team has like 3 or 4 so usable Pokemon.

A fucking full special Dragonite with Draco Meteor and no White Herb that becomes useless after one Draco Meteor but wait...the worst has to come.
Lance has an altaria that keeps spamming Double Team and Perish Song paired with maybe Dragon Breath, but the evasion spam and the Perish Song are one of the most retarded sets I have ever seen, so unproductive it hurts since it has often used it against my team as his last Pokemon.

I understand GF wants to make it clear he is specialized in both Steel and Rock but the other fossils were much more useful than both Aerodactyl and Carbink, even offensive stats wise.

Some also pulled the Diatha's Stored Power Gardevoir level up moves meme with Drake's Flygon and Screech Boomburst and like both -ate megas Glalie and Salamence didn't even bother to show their abilities using Normal attacks.

Keep Clefairy, Machoke instead of Tyrogue, HAunter instead of Gastly, use two Magneton, keep fucking Scyther and either use Butterfree + Beedrill or Ledian + Ariaodos, those are all shit. Alternatively pull a absolute madman and give it Pinsir / Heracross / Scyther trio. Those barely learn any decent attack in GSC anyway. Whitney could even use a Snubbull or Lickitung, HGSS made it clear she loves cute round and pretty mons.

Clefairy is no longer a normal type. Tyrogue is there to give Chuck at least one Johto mon. I like the idea of Morty having all ghost pokemon in his team. This isn't bad, those teams remind me a lot of the Pokemon Stadium 2 ones choice wise, well those were better because more themed around confining gym routes and Pokemon and draconic ones for example, see those Dragon Tamer use in their battle facilities).

But you can definitely use Haunter instead of Gastly and Forretress instead of Pineco, seriously, those had only Take Down and Self Destruct at best and well...Gastly's line actually had the elemental punches if you don't count the only "useful" Night Shade and Curse spam or Thunder and Thunderbolt.

Bugsy would love another Scyther or Heracross, even Scyther + Heracross or Pinsir and Shuckle + Scizor since those are pretty much the iconic Bug Catching contest mons.

Murkrow has acceptable offensive stats, otherwise you can go with Gligar and Mantine too, however I like your pick more because he is specifically a bird Flying type specialist as confirmed later and even theme wise.

Jasmine can use Magneton too, Wattson used this broken magnet in early game too and you are most likely getting an Ampharos at this point so fair enough, plus best Magneton does is Thunderbolt and Thunderwave with maybe some para hax with Sonic Boom that can miss.

Clair's team is very nice as said before, reminds me of her and Lance's draconic teams that also used Aerodactyl, Tyranitar and Nidos, while their gym trainers used starters just like Dragon Tamer do in Battle Tower, pretty much any mon that learns Dragon Dance or Outrage.

It's funny you mention the Dragon Tamer teams because that's how I planned for the gym trainers to go. Since only the best actually get to own a Dratini, you'd see a lot of Pokemon that aren't quite dragons but fit the theme (Arcanine, Steelix, Rhydon, Ampharos, Nidos, etc).

I made Clair stick to aquatic dragons to differentiate her from Lance, who will probably still use a bunch of fliers and maybe others thrown in instead of just three Dragonites.

You're probably right about being able to evolve some of them like Gastly and Pineco, but I'll wait and see how the level curve looks first.

Damn son, that's a lot of detail. Looks good. You should try implementing it sometime, the Crystal disassembly makes it easy to edit things like trainer teams.

his signature mon is pidgeot and as his name suggest pidgey's line becomes a noble and raptor species too

plus it ruins the whole team rocket encounter and murkow's password scene before karen's witch themed team mentions it for the last time
