What's veepee's opinion on Looker?
I'm currently playing through the Looker episodes for the first time and I must admit that he is a pretty cool character.

I know GF wants a reoccurring character, but he just comes off as some incompetent weirdo who needs to take credit for shit kids do for him.
I thought he was mostly just a gag, but his appearance in Generations made me realize perhaps GF intended for me to take him seriously... which seems kind of absurd.

The pokemon games have had a large number of memorable characters over the years, and they decide to ignore most of them and just put Cynthia in 4 sets of games and Looker in 4 sets of games.

We used to have tonnes of cross regional and cross generational appearances, and in Gen 6, the only person from another region to show up in XY is Looker, and the only person from another region to show up in ORAS is Looker.

But Gen 5 had stuff like Catlin and Sabrina, or people from the evil teams of past games. Gen 3 was the odd one out with very little references actually. Before Gen 6 just stuck to Looker only. Didnt even have a Kalos leader partaking in Contests or anything.

Looker makes sense lore wise and has no real role outside of always popping up so he doesn't get tedious like Cynthia can get

Looker doesn't really take over the post game in ORAS though. He just appears in the Battle Resort with amnesia and gives you the Audinite.

Cynthia is in the whole Arceus thing in HGSS, and then she's just an optional boss in BW and of course she's also in the PWT

Cynthia does appear in more games unless you count the national police guy in the SS Anne as Looker, but in gen 5 she's just there and doesn't really do anything so they make more or less the same amount of appearances

Yeah, he was a big part of Kalos and Unova's post game, and a part of Pt's main game. And they they were looking for someone to make a cameo at the resort and decided to just use him again. Unless it was to imply the International Police guy in FRLG is him too, then t was pointless. (Actually I'm kind of expecting someone in SM to say the SS Annie had to be rebuilt after sinking while leaving Kanto)
