I guess those two offer important gameplay purposes
normal shitmon as a weak enemy that doesn't resist anything so the game starts without much challenge

Just checked, the bone would survive, just, but the heat would destroy all of the genetic material, so you wouldn't be able to restore them.
But this is Pokémon, what's to say they couldn't arbitrarily ignore that.
