Masculine and feminine are relative by species and culture, I mean ladybugs are not all asexual females, as there are both male and female ladybugs. I just think having gender ratios that are over 60% male are dumb due to implications of bottlenecking or species assimilation/extinction.
However, I personally prefer starter pokemon that are gender neutralish. I count Delphox (Braixen, Delphi oracle), Poppliomaid, Empoleon (Napoleon, although arguably nothing particularly manly or guyish), Chesnaught (beard, similar counterargument to Empoleon), LuchaLitten, Samurott (stache and beard, somewhat masculine body for a quadpedal), and Emboar (beard, prominent canines like in male boars) as gendered-looking, and in the case of Emboar, not just in human terms.
