Of course i do. They often talk like they know everything about the games, yet they only use mons that they like that aren't really competitively viable or their ingame team.

After a few defeats they use a full team of Legendaries, but I go in with only Geo Xern and sweep their whole team.

I helped a friend figure out the ropes to the competitive scene by basically helping him build teams of his favorites and then battling them.

I purposely lost/made bad plays from time to time to boost his confidence, and now he goes on Showdown from time to time. He's pretty good at it now.
