Buffs to Hail. Really, just making Hail as usable as the other weather effects.

Considering Sandstorm boosts Rock Sp. Def by 50% and they have access to not trash/banned abilities in that weather.

I don't honestly think it would help them out a lot, but it would be a marked improvement.

Something similar to what the other weathers do
-Sun
>powers up Fire type moves
>no charge Solarbeam
>weakens Water type moves
-Rain
>powers up Water type moves
>weakens Fire type moves
>Thunder and Hurricane bypass Accuracy
>halves power of Solarbeam
-Sandstorm
>all Pokemon that aren't Rock, Ground, or Steel lose a bit of HP every turn
>Increases Sp.Def of Rock types
>halves power of Solarbeam
-Hail
>All Pokemon that aren't Ice type lose a bit of HP each turn
>Blizzard bypasses Accuracy
>weakens the power of Solarbeam

No, one turn Solarbeam is not worth it, even non-STAB Fire type moves destroy Grass types in sun. Grass types should get a passive speed/attack boost in sun and passive HP regen in rain.
Grass and Ice are tied for the most shit treatment in the game, why must we suffer like this?

The problem I have with Hail is only Ice-types are naturally immune to it. There are three types I can use on a Sandstorm team without worrying about damage. I can't do that with Hail.
Buffing Hail and adding new, good abilities for it would wind up benefitting other, non-Ice-type Pokemon with those abilities more. Assuming any at all even get them, which seems increasingly unlikely as GF burns up the remaining secondary and hidden ability options on plenty of Pokemon.

Hail:
-boosts the Def of Ice types by 50%
-doesn't pelt Fire and Water types anymore.
-reduces the power of Flying and Fire moves.
-Snow Rush (Swift Swim for Hail), Winter Force (boosts SpAtk in the Hail) and Frozen Coat (boosts SpDef in Hail) now exist.

Ice:
-make it resist Water, Flying and Normal
-looses its Rock or Fighting weakness.

There, Ice is now viable.

Weather is already niche.
Look at sandstorm and sun, they are only used because the pokémon that activate them are very good to start with.
Water is a better typing than both fire and rock, but as long as the only drizzle wielder is a shitmon it doesn't help anyone out.

Apparently some people are so neckbeards that they don't even know what fighting mats look like.
In marital arts and boxing and whatnot, when training, you will often have someone be holding various cushioned mats that you punch and kick.
Just like this guy's claws.
The person with the mats isn't on the offense, they are the defensive person.
