Convince me to play Platinum right now. People are raving about it but the Pokedex looks really mediocre compared to BW2.

It's one of the harder, more rewarding games in the series and has a great deal of Pokemon variety and a great postgame. The battle resort island is pretty cool.

Its story is great, the starters are excellent, and it's altogether much better and more challenging to play than, say, XY. Plus, Battle Frontier is baller.

It's got a battle frontier, some great post-game, a good selection of Pokemon, can be decently challenging and has some of the cooler moments of the series like the Distortion World.

It takes D/P, which were somewhat mediocre, and puts them on the same level as the rest of the series, and it does that in a convincing way.
