Why does everyone want them to be good?

I personally would prefer them to be evil and stay evil. We haven't had a cool evil team for years, and Team Skull is pretty cool.

Because if they were good then that would mean Aether is super evil. Evil aether would be actually EVIL, where skull just kinda seems like a goofy group of outcasts (i love them, but evil aether seems more promising)

To me, Team Skull is like a less organized Team Rocket. Giovanni dissapeared but the grunts and stuff never really learnt their lesson. That was cool.

Galactic was utter garbage as a whole except for Cyrus.

Also while they didn't turn out to be actually good, they all regreted what they had done to the lake trio (except that old guy they added in platinum) so it's not the same thing.

Skull has a cool concept already. To me it would be a shame if they ruined it with such a predictable twist, especially since they actually do bad things (steal pokemon), and that would probably be forgotten if they turn out to be good.

You know what I'm actually hoping we will get? A situation where you can either side with Team Skull or the Aether Foundation. I know that is unlikely and not Pokemon's style, but a man can dream.

That would be great, but yeah not something that would happen in a pokemon game.

Though in XY you do get the ""choice"" of activating or not the Ultimate Weapon, so in a way you can side with Flare.
