I am a genwunner, and I am here to enlighten you on a simple fact: Black and white was the best mainline pokemon installment there will ever be.
The games have undeniably gotten less mature since gen 1 and 2. When remakes of those games censor midriffs and change "beautiful women" to "strong trainers," you can't deny the atmosphere has changed.
But B/W went the opposite direction for the shortest time.
1. Difficulty. There we even an expert mode.
2. Antagonists were more unabashed, and N was practically an icon of "we want a modicum of complexity. "
3. The protagonists themselves were older. No one will ever come close to Hilda's shorts.
4. No shoe-horning of gen one mons. I've played since the day RB came out in America. We need games to go this direction.
