More people are in Pokémon Go's target market than Sun & Moon's
Pokémon Go is (supposedly) a full game for free, not a demo that's fun for twenty minutes.
Pokémon Go's ~20m first week downloads were an unparalleled success. 1/6 of that is still great.

The problem is, it is a bit shit compared to the sort of demo that most games have, because the appeal of Pokémon games is in the long-term exploration and customization of your team. The actual engine and overworld is mediocre, but the demo they made is just about the best they could do.
