For gen 6 the starter's secondary typings help beat the other starters even more: Grass/Fighting -> Water/Dark -> Fire/Psychic -> and back again.
Maybe it's the same with Gen 7 :
Water/Fairy -> Fire/Fighting -> Grass/Ghost
Maybe they changed the charts so that Ghost is now super effective against Fairy?

Aren't owls usually associated with the occult and general spookiness? That would explain the Ghost-typing. It's also based on a sniper. Snipers kill without being seen. That alludes to Ghost-typing ass well.

My problem with his ghost type is that rowlet is flaying and it's a stater they should not change type upon evolving.
Is grass so bad of a type they gave it flaying to compensate.
They should have definitely have kept rowlet mono-type like the other two to keep the theme better,it feels like emboar being a sumo wrestler(fighting tipe)/Chinese general when serperior and samurott where a French noble and Shogun(mono-types) respectively.
