Are humans normal type in the pokemon world? Can they gain an additional type through training or practice?

Like as a normal human am I completely immune to ghosts and ghost moves? But if I became a psychic any random ghastly could fuck me up bad?

If I learn to practice fire breathing then would a water gun mess me up?

If I was a really good gardner would fire uh... burn me... better?
