It'll probably be just a Battle Maison reskin with old characters to make it more "unique".
Which wouldn't be a problem really, if you wouldn't be wrong to expect only below 20 special characters.

The only way it could be more disappointing than the Maison is if there's only an option for single battles and you can only do doubles once in a while with a special character.

I'm already 100% dissapointed by it because it seems that Cynthia, Wally, and every other Battle Tree character will only have 3 pokemon. I know we'll have 3 pokemon as well but after seeing Red and Blue with full teams it just feels lame.

Why is /vp/ such a hysterical contraruan place? And why would every fucking gym leader, your shit favorite npc, champions and all be in the Battle Tree at the same time?

The other cheap trick that was PWT (literally only thing that made Unova memorable) to lure in players through le epic gym leaders at least had a better explanation as in actual unique world event conference advertised and organized by Clay to promote his city, meme reason but fair, not the Battle Subway was still active and intended to be separated as a different facility.

Now why would everyone visit some Alolan giant tree battle facility instead?

Here is the thing.

We had the PWT, which had almost every major character from the entire franchise up until that point.

Now in S/M, they have a new Post-Game facility with the exact same gimmick, old characters returning.

The problem is those lazy fuckers, Game Freak, have set themselves up to fail. Because unless they go out of their way to match the PWT by including everyone, Battle Tree will FOREVER just be a shittier version.

They've bit the bullet. They've promised another Post-Game Facility with old characters, I fucking expect the old characters, all of them. Anything less should not be tolerated. They did it before, they can do it now. They even had an extra year of Dev time than usual.

If Battle Tree turns out to be botched and not include the characters and content of the PWT, every single one of you cocksuckers who defends it will be outed as defending the continued laziness of Game Freak.

I shall hope they don't fuck it up, but I am not getting my hopes up.

They have no fucking excuse here.

Anybody that has been following Pokémon from the beginning will have seen the piss-poor amount of content Gen 6 had compared to previous entries. Now they have had an extra year, they have literally no excuse not to go all out on this Post-Game.

So yeah, with that shit in mind, if this turns out to be PWT with just 10% of the characters, it's a huge sign of laziness.

Besides, Dataminers confirmed 100~ EXTRA scrapped trainer classes in the demo leaks, compared to OR/AS, so it's not even outside of the realm of possibility that they are going to go all out. I just don't want to get my hopes up because after OR/AS, you'd be cray to.
