Friendly remind that FRLG are objectively more deserving of remakes than DPPt
>more people care about gen 1 than gen 4
From a basic business perspective, it's a better decision financially to use the region and pokemon that people actually care about. As we know, /vp/ judges the quality of pokemon games exclusively by the number of units shifted, so no issue here.
>last release date of a Sinnoh game: 2008
>last release of a Kanto game: 2004
For "muh fairness!" crowd, it is in fact an argument of basic fairness. The last time we properly visited generation 1 was 12 years ago, longer than any other generation including 4. As we all know and repeatedly bring up in every gen 2 thread, the Kanto of HGSS is woefully underdevloped and does not count as a real visit to Kanto. Neither does shoehorning a few ugly digimon megas into XY or hideous hawaiian formes into SM. No, it is high time we actually got to revisit the original games.
>we have a way to play every gen in a relatively up-to-date style EXCEPT gen 1
This kind of expands on the above point, but Platinum has aged a hell of a lot better than FRLG, which were horribly dated within just a few years of their release. Platinum is still recognisable as modern pokemon, whereas returning to gen 3 games is a MUCH bigger step back. Ironically, Platinum is, mechanically at least, objectively a better game than FRLG or RBY... which is why the latter deserve remakes more.
The only reason you could possibly disagree with this is if you simply blindly hate genwun for no reason other than the fact that you're mad because some of us were enjoying your precious games before you were even born.
