Hopefully not. This shit is based off of an extinct owl native to Hawaii. However, its not like these guys were fossils in the pokemon world first.

It gains its ghost typing because it's species is spoopy and its real world counter part is dead.

I think the Pueo connection is more significant than the stilt owl one. Pueo owls still live in Hawaii and traditional Hawaiian culture says the spirits of dead ancestors return as these owls.
