So I got to thinking, since GF put Deoxys in ORAS as a wild encounter, do you think they'd de-mythical any more mythicals in S/M? Silvally makes me think Arceus may appear in some form.

I imagine they will at some point but not in SM. That's the sort of thing they'd keep for remakes and third versions/sequels as incentives to buy them. They'll wanna keep some as Mythical for events and handouts in the future for sure but since Gens 1-3 have only one Mythical each now I could see them making all but one of the Gen 4 Mythicals available over the next Gen or so.

20th anniversary hype + Mew Glitch making it easy to get from RBY makes me think they'll just strike while the iron is hot and cash in

Maybe we can go back to Faraway Island, it'll fit in since you'll be taking the ferry everywhere in Alola so maybe you find the old sea chart hidden under a truck or something

I'm sick of having pokemon handed to me instead of actually catching them
and it's bullshit that thanks to volcanion it wasn't even possible to complete the dex until a month before the next gen comes out

Celebi and Darkrai are the easy routes, time travel and nightmares would be an easy way to create new places and storylines.
Shaymin could get something given its relation to alchemy and nature which is how I think Lockstin would describe Gen 7.
Arceus feels like another obvious choice, it's God and this game has people trying to make God.
Maybe Mew given that Game Freak love Gen 1 the most.
Or hell, maybe it's Magearna or Marshadow and they won't actually be Mythical after all.

I think it would be neat if mythicals were level 100 or close to it, and you had to beat them 1v1 before they could be caught. Once at 0hp they'd be unable to move for a few turns while you chucked pokeballs at it, then if you were unsuccessful it would revive to 75% or so health and you'd start over. This and really anything close to this, would make me really happy. Then again, I'm such a massive fanboy it's practically impossible for me to be unhappy with GF or nintendo in any way.

As far as I know, Deoxys has never been mythical. He was just a Legendary exclusive to events, and that made him strange, so they decided to do it this way. I may be wrong, though.

They should make more in-game events to catch legendaries and mythicals. Deoxys side-quest is pretty funny. I don't want to just catch the legendaries like ORAS did with Hoopa's rings.

Said that, they should put Azure Flute event in gen IV remakes.

I just hate how mythicals are legendaries, but have even less in-game context than random encounter Pokemon. At least you can infer those pokemon's natural environment. Most legendaries have some sort of lore or mystery surrounding them, and I don't just mean Pokedex entires. Even lesser post game ones have stuff going on, like the Regis. But Mythicals are just handed to you. You get Pokedex entries and nothing else. They just feel so detached from everything. I assume that's why they are often promoted with movies. There's no other way to really get people excited for them.
What they did with Deoxys was beautiful. They didn't just make him available under normal circumstances, they gave him a fantastic introduction and an interesting reason for appearing.

There were distributions for both Gens 4 and 5. One was a Wi-Fi event too so it's not like you needed to go to a store. Plus you could get a Deoxys through Ranger: Guardian Signs as well.

So no, by no means the hardest to get. That would be Jirachi.

I could go on, but Jirachi is, and will continue to be the most screwed-over mythical.
