What kind of god damned moonrune language do they speak in Pocket Monster world?

One of the moonrunes on this keyboard in the bottom right kinda looks like the 'mi' symbol in japanese. But that's literally all I can make out of this entire fucking thing.

This is from generations btw if u didn't get the memo

Maybe that's why they're such a mystery. They clearly know their forms are meaningful in a way of writing, but its now a dead language and needs interpreting.

They only made this language because localization and anti-imperialistfags at 4Kids that later influenced TPCi's practices insisted it'd make the series have international appeal with no need to translate.

I suppose it works that way, but the Latin alphabet is used in most countries so it does a good job at being international

That said, they went out of their way to design these characters since all they needed were blank buttons that resembled a keyboard to inform us exactly what the fuck we're looking at

It still makes the Unown feel dumb though

I hear they actually make a shot with kana or English and then edit them to those characters.

Pretty sure that the writing you can see in the SM demo isn't Japanese.

Honestly I feel it's kind of a step up for Pokemon to have it's own alphabet.
