>>29529253I work with mice in a laboratory, I handle and health check hundreds of them daily. Newchu is like a five week old pup that hasn't put on condition yet. An adult mouse puts on belly fat and is round and soft all over - not to the cartoony extent of old Pikachu I'll admit, but closer to the old than the new at least. And despite the roundness of their body, they squish quite readily and use their stumpy little paws with great dexterity. Newchu has been skinnied up to give him more humanoid arms, and his ribcage and head look dorsally flattened so that he can express more anthropomorphised body language. There's nothing explicitly wrong with that, I just like the older animalistic design.
