What on earth is keeping them from just ignoring johto? They'very been doing it fine for at least half a decade. Firered/leaf green didn't include johto, and came out after the johto games.

We are never having Kanto+Johto again. Those are two very similar regions, with very little chances of them looking different. E.g. Ilex Forest and Viridian Forest would look the fucking same? If you haven't noticed, every place in Kalos (bar a couple close routes with similar graphics) and Alola are trying to be as unique as possible.

But no, there is no second region in the game.

No Kanto, no Kalos, not even other fancy facilities likee Frontier or PWT. All the battle intros leaked and there's no specials for gyms or other elite 4 than Alola's

The game is big anyway (3.2 GB) so any DLC just wont happen

Or just use the Fly Pokeride...

Besides gyms are unlikely anyway because there's no intros for gyms in Alola either plus why would you need to prove yourelf in gyms when you beat trials already The empty lots are most likely some sort of secret base feature
