RBY and GSC are completely worth playing along side FRLG and HGSS outside of nostalgia as both give different experiences than their remakes
RBY Freeze was bullshit but it was fun bullshit
I legitmately love Pikachu
Pre Phys/Spec split shenanigans are incredibly fun to fuck around with, especially with Pokémon like Ledian
Johto's Pokémon are great and it's has so,e of my favorite additions to the dex
Johto's leveling and experience distribution don't bother me and it still manages to be my favorite gen both GSC and HGSS
Hoenn is the only generation i've actively disliked playing despite it having some of my favorite Pokémon.
Gen 4's cross gen evos are all great follow ups to their prevos
Cynthia was the most fun I had fighting a champion and she's now my favorite fight in the series.
I like a majority of Gen 5's Pokémon and even when BW2 gave me the option to use older mons I still choose Unova Pokémon
