The tiger has collar bones that clearly make it look more male than anything else and the overall anatomy just makes me cringe. I'm getting more used to it, but maybe that's the Stockholm syndrome kicking in. I've had this opinion for quite a while now though and seeing the 3D model solidified it. And only just now we've been seeing fan art that makes him look at least somewhat decent, which is why I'm growing used to him. And no, I'm not talking about bara shit here either.
The seal simply put, was designed in such a way that they didn't give a fuck whether it'd look like it could become a male or a female, as long they'd make it as pandering to the girl/gay crowd as much as possible. Basically that, it looks like no fucks were given from Game Freak's side on the possibility of it supporting male Popplios, so they went all out and made a performing elegant mermaid seal. That's that. At least, it's a bit more excusable, given the Fairy type which is infamous for cutesy/feminine/pink designs, but dang. It's less about "MUH MASCULINITY" and more about the fact that the starter gender ratio is fucking shit and you very rarely do get a female, which I fucking hope is fixed to half and half. No, I don't want this shit to be 100% female either because that's retarded.
