I do it mostly for easy identification of sets. I've got a Megazard Y named Charcolt and a Megazard X named Alain. Makes it less likely that I'll grab the wrong one if I'm multitasking/not paying 100% attention before a battle.

Other anons have already mentioned that we didnt evolve directly from modern "apes", but on top of that just because a species has evolved doesn't necessarily mean that the original versiom of that species stops existing. You know that pokemon evolution isnt actually how it works right?

Usually I go with any fantasy sounding shit that could have come from a book series, but I'm gonna try to do a Mythology and/or stars naming convention in SM.
