Wallace for water or a show.
Cynthia for vacation/ archaeology.
Alder could just be a wandering retired hobo enjoying his vacation.
Iris would be having fun exploring or something. Would probably catch another dino esque mon.
Diantha could be shooting a movie/ on vacation.
Wally and every other rival could just be there for the challenge. We already now that Wally will travel for it according to his resolve to beat the battle resort.
