Ok kid i guess i have to break it down for you. Lets start with where pokemon was going before gen 3 so you can get a better idea

It was a watered down kanto, and gen 2 wasn't perfect. But it also played on a gamegoy system so I can excuse the flaws.
However, when gen 3 rolled around a lot of things were taken out, not included or ruined.
We could transfer our old teams because they had the gall to include a stat system that was not only incomparable(which they could have figured something out by randomizing them or something), it was extremely important and fucking INVISIBLE. Not to mention, breeding was the most tedious thing ever now. You legit didn't want to put the effort into it. Gen 2 you wanted a new and amazing charizard or breed for a shiny and you can use any pokemon you bred out of it and none of them were fucking junk.
Gen 3 absolutely ruined breeding and made it not fucking fun anymore. If we could influence the stats easier, or at least be able to SEE them it would be better but there is honestly too much shit here. IVs don't need to exist, evs and natures are the most you'd need for a breeding mechanic to make diversity in pokemon of the same species.
OH and heres how I know youre a fucking baby. We could transfer our old teams to the new game. HORSE SHIT. We had to BUY RED AND BLUE again to be able to dex fill, and emerald made improvements to its, especially postgame but everything felt unfulfilled after we had more expectations from the previous gen. Gen 3 was the begining of gamefreak removing great things from the game. No more day and night, cant visit older regions, couldn't transfer my living dex thats i worked hard on, and breeding was now an awful tedious bike simulator on levels like never before.
