Okay, so I'll admit I don't get it. Am I the only one who isn't a Zardfag, but still thinks that giving it two Megas great decision on GF's part?
They managed to keep the vanilla fans happy and made Charizard a great Special Attacker with Zard Y, and they made people who wanted it to be a Dragon happy with Zard X.
They just overall made more people happy by giving it two Megas. Why does /vp/ hate Charizard for it?

But if Charizard hadn't gotten two, that doesn't mean those other Pokemon would've gotten one.
Charizard didn't STEAL Mega evolution from a Pokemon. It just got one extra.

All the time and resources wasted in making other megazard could have been use for another thing, so in theory, he DID STEAL the opportunity of another poke getting a mega, it might have been used to do another thing, but it could also been used for another mega.

Ahem. So, you see, Mega Stones are items that are created randomly. They are, essentially, random rocks. Why they allow Pokémon to Mega Evolve in the first place is a mystery. If some of these stones can allow a Pokémon to change form, there's no real reason to believe there can't be two different stones that work on the a single Pokémon.

That is simply not true. If there were other Pokemon GF wanted to give Mega Forms to, they would've done that. If they were tight on time for XY, they could've done that in ORAS. Again, if they were tight on time, they could done it in SM.
Heck, there were some Pokemon, like Flygon, who were supposed to have Mega form, but didn't get one simply because the couldn't decide on a design they liked.

Mewtwo isn't a clone. It's a genetically modified baby of Mew. It is as much a Pokemon as any other.
Two, since Mega Stones are actually created randomly, there's no reason to think that Mew and Mewtwo will both get lucky and get Mega Forms at the same time.

GF isn't any random gaming company. For XY, they were tight on schedule because of the jump to 3D, but even then I image they had a lot of time on their hand, considering they also worked on side games and BW2 at the same time. A company of that size does not have to work 24/7 just to release a new every other year.

One thing I don't get is why do /vp/ hate Zard X so much. It is just as strong as Zard Y, but has a different design. And the design isn't even bad. Admittedly, they could've done something better for the wings, but they don't look particularly bad. It has a pretty cool design overall.

I feel X was just... Well, I hate to throw the term around, but it feels kind of edgy. I just don't think they needed to change it's coloration like that. The blue flames are kind of cool, but also making it constantly seep from it's mouth like some weird mustache? Nah...

I think it's totally acceptable to dislike something for being popular if it gets merch/megas/attention at the expense of the others that are it's equal.
I love Bulbasaur, and yet he gets jack shit while Charizard appears in every single instance that could've gone to either Bulbasaur or Squirtle.

Y is the one that feels natural like Blastoise and Venusaur's. X, on the other hand, feels more shoehorned in. There's nothing wrong with liking the design, but it's obvious it was made for pandering purposes, given how it got Dragon type and an entire part of an Origins episode dedicated to it.
