>>29602537>either you just don't want to admit that you are wrong, you want every game to be the same or you are unable to comprehend the point that i was making about it.You aren't really making a point beyond "I liked it so it doesn't matter.
Also this part in particular
>you want every game to be the sameWhat exactly did you mean by this?
Are you trying to imply that pokemon has something special in it's stats and stat up moves that set it apart from other games?
Well aside from the special stat which they did rectify.
Anyway there's no difference between Pokemon's
Attack
Defense
Special attack
Special defense
Speed
To say
Strength
Durability
Magic attack
Magic defense
Agility
And the same goes for moves. Pokemon has a move that ups attack by one stage, so does DQ, SMT and so on. The difference is that all of the stat ups work as they should.
>it was always pokemonExcept it wasn't always Pokemon. You said there was nothing to compare it to when that was never true to begin with. Now you're saying that there's no other pokemon games to compare it to.
That's the epitome of moving the goalposts.
>i didn't realize that you were trying to say that every single game should have exactly the same mechanicsAnon, they DO have the same mechanics.
They're RPGs that's the feature that ties them together.
Unless you think that competent mechanics are somehow going to change the Pokemon world into a psudo medieval/futuristic/apocalypic world like say Breath of Fire or Chrono Trigger.
>>29602640>I'm not following the argument but this is correct. You should probably follow the conversation.
Also you're making the same mistake that anon did.
Final Fantasy, unlike Pokemon, didn't have that much to go on outside of board games and fairly rare western games. Transitioning the mechanics of the board games into a video game back in the early days post crash is an entirely different scenario to Pokemon who has several years RPGs to go on to see how those mechanics work.
