Because Pokemon was so popular it was distracting the general public from anything else potentially more satanic. In that time, everyone loved PKMN so it was an easy target.
If a Christian channel in the 90's even brought up Digimon, most ppl in the audience would just assume it was the next Pokemon game or TV show.
