Having gone through all games without much issue means that you're used to the core systems and can use them at your advantage, but the brilliance of using them does not come off inmediately.
This doesn't work in PMD's favor - on the contrary. It makes it seem like a festival of bullshit - unavoidable deaths, that one fucker you didn't see and that used a room move, and so on. Even if you can prevent them by preparation this is normal on the genre - it's even expected. It's a great introductory roguelike in that sense, but in comparison to what you'd expect from say, mainline pokémon, well, victory doesn't come for free. What you'd be able to wreck with your team can still be a torture to go through if you don't know much about the game.
