Is Missingno still in the VC versions of Pokemon red and blue? I've been surfing up and down Cinnabar and all I find are level 128 electrodes.

Sounds like it. In my original version Missingno started appearing as the last pokemon I battled.

Did you remember to talk to the old man? I'm pretty sure it's setting him as the last pokemon you battled that breaks everything. Otherwise you'll just get the last pokemon in the game's memory.
