Gen VII seems to want to try and harken back to the simple days of Pokemon by not going all out with the designs as much as possible. A lot of the Pokemon aren't that complex-looking this generation

I'm kind of inclined to agree, because a lot of the Gen VII designs really don't stick out to me or feel all that memorable. I only really like the Starters, Buffpod and the Tsareena line off the top of my head

It's odd, since most of the other regional birds evolve into birds that are even more unrelated to the toucan than Pikipek is. I mean, a Japanese robin becomes a peregrine falcon on fire.

But I know that that's not the main reason why people dislike the toucan. And that's ok. But if I've learned anything from this new gen session, it's that I can't fully assume anything, because I always end up being wrong in a surprising yet good way.

See, this is one of the reasons the 'it's just an animal' argument is kinda retarded. Every gen does this. Not everything needs 20 spikes. None of these designs, or their evoltions, are really bad except unfezant. Talonflame and Staraptor are actually really cool.

One thing that kinda bugs me is the weak secondary typing 'triangle.' Dark beats ghost, fairy beats dark but not dark-fire, and ghost is... neutral to fairy. What? Or is ghost getting a buff?
