You need defensive type synergy and a strategy that can circumvent shitty luck
You also need to be able and willing to abuse the AI, which never switches and never predicts your switches (allowing you to PP stall if really necessary)

that's lazy difficulty. people like facing balanced teams with good moves and even 'ideal' for their role stats, people despise facing things with better than naturally possible stats and/or manipulated rng odds to favor them more and more. and they especially despise when every time they lose its right back to the bottom to fight the piss easy crap another 20 straight times before 'real' opponents, with mediocre payouts.

Look, Gen VI has "Post-Game" but it is not what people expected: It has catching Legendaries which it very boring and frustrating, it has online battle which it can be used for battling against real people and means that Game Freak can avoid adding interesting facilities just for this, it has Post-Game Story in Looker Bureau and Delta Episode, it also has the Battle Maison which is infamous for being just reskin of Battle Tower and... Poof, a "new" facility (Battle Maison reused all the Battle Subway sets and added Gen VI Pokémon and that's it)

Gen VI has Post-Game, but for people that like battling, Gen VI's post-game is like a middle finger because Gen V also had online battling and Battle Tower reskin.

God, I want this meme to die. Just because you're sometimes countered doesn't mean the game does it on purpose. I got a 300+ win streak in Triples* by using just one team and I don't even consider myself to be a good player. Literally just git gud and stop making excuses.

*(I've also reached 200+ in Doubles, 150+ in Singles and 100+ in Rotations but I don't think those streaks are that impressive.)

It's fake difficulty is what it is, and it is zero fun to deal with. Sure, I could just run Truant Durant like everyone else, but it isn't fun at all. OP here. During 26-30 streaks appeared a Gardener with a full Grass-team, only to counter my Mega Swampert (and I almost always lead with Infernape), and during 36-40 streaks appeared two NPCs with two Ice-types and during that streak my strongest Pokémon was Mega Salamence, so I can confirm this is partially true.

Each trainer can only have certain Pokemon in their team so for example the Gardener might only or mostly have access to Grass-type Pokemon. It doesn't necessarily mean that the trainer picked those Pokemon just to counter you.

Besides, this is where the team building aspect comes in. Usually when I play Singles I lead with M-Kangaskhan, and in that case you MUST have something in the back to deal with Fighting-types and status spamming Ghosts because those are the best counter-leads to Kanga. Whenever I lead with Megamom and the opponent leads with Conkeldurr, what do I do? Do I open /vp/ and start whining that the game cheats, or do I switch in my answer to Fighting-types (e.g. a bulky, hard hitting Fairy-type), beat the opponent and continue my streak? Take a fucking guess.

Yet it doesn't NEED things like Double Team or other banned aspects in order to cheat.

It just straight up blatantly alters the chance of everything so heavily in its favor that it's just unfair.

Quick Claw is just one of those such items that is abused maliciously. It's like a Choice Scarf without the downsides.

OP here. I found out that I need to git gud and find another team. I'll try a team that I found on Smogon (Dragonite, Physical Aegislash, and Specs Greninja) and see if at least I can reach to 50 streaks.

For those that wanted to know the team which made me reach to 48 streaks, it was: Infernape, Porygon2, Mega Sceptile. It wasn't the best but at least it made me reach to 48 wins.

Whimsicott (tailwind and Fake Tears)/Charizard Y/Aegislash (for wide guard) in front, Landorus/Zapdos/Mamoswine in back.

Fake Tears Heat Wave with Wide Guard support is good enough to take out about 3/4 of teams already

What teams are you guys using for the Maison?
I used M-Kanga, Protean Greninja and Aegislash but every single fight is very close after the 20's, and then I start running into the stall teams that take 10 minutes to beat each time and I start getting irritable.

Should I replace Aegislash with someone? I feel like it's the weakest link of my team.

Shell Smash Cloyster with Focus Sash also destroys singles. You'll want to keep Aegislash in this case.

And Aegislash was crucial for fucking over the Veterans' Musketeers. They always go for a Fighting move onto Kanga, allowing Aegislash to switch in freely, boost, and sweep.

M-Kanga is standard. Fake-out, PUP, Earthquake and Sucker Punch.
Greninja is Modest, Protean. Ice beam, Surf, Extransenory, Dark Pulse with an Expert belt.
Aegislash has shadow sneak, sacred sword, iron head and king's shield holding a king's rock.

I lead off with Fake-out to get a bit of damage in but I'll try everything you said. I only used King's rock to aid in shadow sneak. If it doesn't KO the pokemon, I wanted to have a chance of it flinching.

Got to 30 wins in a row, the past two fights were deceptively easy wins with me just spamming grass not with Greninja (first pokemon out) so I'm going to take a break tonight to put the inevitable "fuck you" trainer on hold, I have a feeling my end is near.

Don't know why I didn't use grass knot before, it's such an obvious choice and good coverage move.

There have been more than a few ass clencher fights so far, and I won one of the battles with only a critical hit and red HP on my last 'mon.

The main game should be harder because there are SO many ways to make it easy (levelling up, getting a specific team to counter your opponent's weakness, etc.)

The post game towers/maisons are usually pretty unfair with the RNG. Since you can only use 3 pokemon and you're facing off a string of 50 trainers it's only a matter of time before the AI throws out a team that can perfectly counter yours, or faint a critical pokemon that you absolutely need to fight one of it's remaining pokemon.

tl;dr main game you have a shitload of handicaps, post game gives the AI everything they need.

I had a situation develop around battle 48 of super singles.
Dragonite was locked into Outrage which was plowing through his team. Outrage always shows the confusion effect AT THE END of the turn 2 or 3 after use. It had been used twice, end of turn 2 and Dragonite didn't become confused. The opponent sends out a Zapdos, which is easily OHKO'd by outrage+1.

As soon as turn 3 starts, Dragonite becomes confused. It skips the attacking phase(outrage does not happen a 3rd time) and Zapdos ko's Dragonite with a coverage move.

It's unprecedented.
The maison absolutely cheats when the chips aren't in its favour. It will search for ways.

Thankfully some rng went my way otherwise that would have been it.
