To remove the main deviantart watermark, I first draw the shape of the DA logo
http://i.imgur.com/C4GILwk.png using the pen tool. Ctrl+H to hide the selection line then I use levels (ctrl+l) to readjust the white back down to normal levels. There is an additional shadow around the DA logo so I then I turn path into selection and border the selection in 4px and content aware fill it so the program can calculate what it needs to remove.
For the text, I select each letter and content aware fill it because by photoshop CC 2015 the program is clever enough to remove objects without the clone tool or manual redrawing. We use this aspect of photoshop a lot in redrawing manga.
