Swapping HMs for pokeride isn't 'casualizing', it's having you do literally the same shit at the same time, but with a different and more engaging skin. I don't understand how this doesn't follow for you people.
I'll make an example here just in case it's still confusing.
John gets to Hrumboot town! John decides to explore north, but can't go past these rocks, so John needs rock smash! After beating the gym in town, John talks to an NPC who gives him Rock Smash. He uses Rock Smash and progresses.
Sam gets to Hrambip town! Sam decides to explore west, but can't go past these rocks, so Sam needs Pokeride Tauros! After beating the trial in town, Sam talks to an NPC who gives him Pokeride Tauros. He uses pokeride tauros to progress.
