Nate/Rosa has the title, but the actual strongest would either be Calem/Serena, Brendan/May, or Sol/Luna due to being the only 3 with access to Mega Evolution.

Reds the only character to double up as a protagonist and Npc, so he's the only one of the protagonists they can address more openly, while the others are licked away in the land of player character , so Gamefreak doesn't address them in any way outside of their games. For fuck sakes, hilbert/hilda made no appearances in bw2. That should tell you everything.

The victors of battles are non-canon since it is always the player. Nate/Rosa would be them winning the PWT was canon.

I think Red and Gold are roughly equal. Gold is probably better when compared at the same ages.

This is fucking retarded. Hilbert, Gold, and maybe Red would be the weakest ones considering their box legends are the weakest and they also have the lowest feats. Red, at least to the world at large. In game canon no one knows who won the red/gold battle except for Red and Gold, so Red retained his title.

As far as PWT goes I don't think there are any canonical outcomes.

Galactic and Team Magma/Aqua seem a lot weaker than the Teams the other 3 had to fight through, really the only difficult parts of saving the world and universe for those 2 was having to fight the legendaries.

Feats or legends don't matter as much as consistency, and boy those guys delivered.

Apparently Hilda and Hilbert where called the strongest in aborted game arc where Nate and Rosa would pull an Ethan on them, but I need to double check on that since it wasn't implemented and I need to check my information.

Mega evolution isn't a game ender though, the video games, manga, and anime all have shown trainers with megas losing to more skilled ones.

Half the protagonists aren't even confirmed to have caught legendaries, running away is literally an option that nets you special dialogue for some of them. Calem/Serena, ORAS protag with Fug, and Hilbert/Hilda are the only ones that 100% own legendaries.
