Because these episode don't take you to new places and are basically just very short rehashes of the whole game with fewer things to do rather than what HGSS/BW2 did with expanding your playing area and exploration stuff.

Id rather take more areas to visit without any scenario than a Z Episode that focuses on another unrelatable character.

Total bullshit. Why would your trainer card limit you to those areas? There's literally tourist NPCs in gen Kalos and Hoenn. They don't seem to be limited to "tourist areas." Plus as mentioned earlier, you buy mega stones in the festival plaza. Additionally, Japan(and most other places)fucking hates Zinnia so it's not likely that GF would bring her back for another game, or at least not in anything near a major role.

Yeah, and just talking from the perspective of someone who wants to make a series for a living (Books, a TV show, or best of yet video games) If I know a character is hated, I'd rather do my best to make the character likable in subsequent appearances. That's just the basics of it.
