The pokemon setting is kind of nonsensical anyway. There's cars, but barely any roads, no real indicator of how anything is really kept up and running aside from a few power plants in the games (But that makes sense, because it's a children's game about catching monsters). There probably are guns, but they're also probably much more rare since there's less practical use for them when compared to a magic dinosaur or whatever. I mean you don't see any sex toys in the games either, but that's probably more because the game is just not really about that than some sort of lack of innovation in that world's perversion
