Delta episode was great, as well as making deoxys catchable
Introduced some great Megas- (M-Beedril)
Lorewise it was great as well
SEVERELY improved the underwater areas, dive trainers are a great ieda.
getting rid of the safari zone was great too, I never liked that.
Contests actually felt fun this time around.
Brendan/May were given an expanded role which is also great
Mirage Islands are pretty fun
Secret Bases are the best gimmick ever
Updated Dex is great as well, sure it may not be much, but it's a basic thing that should have happened in FR/LG and HG/SS
On top of that, the updated E4 teams is also good.
Don't get me wrong, there are somethings I don't like, Sky Pillar could have easily been another dungeon, and there was no need to remove Mirage tower.
Also no Frontier is a big one, but personally I was never frustrated with that since I never expected it in the first place
