But there's NO reason to abbreviate SM as SuMo. Reddit does justifying that SM has a sexual meaning, but nobody gave a fuck when people call DP. Almost anything can be a sexual abbreviation if you look hard enough. SuMo is just as retarded as RuSaEm, DiPePa, BaWi, etc.
Also just try googling "Pokémon SuMo". You'll mostly get results for sumo episodes/actual sumo related stuff. It's only a small vocal portion of reddit and maybe tumblr that calls the game that unironically. I'm mostly convinced that most people who do it here are just baiting at this point.
