>>29708825OP I understand these are your favorite games, but please consider these points. I am not a genwunner, I generally try to take all of the game as separate entities, when it comes to their gameplay and their story etc etc.
Slowest game progression of all gens. They hold your hand until like badge 4.
The Dex is broken into three categories
1- New Mons
2- Evolutions of previous mons
3- Legends
Legends make a third of the dex.
No evolution for Jynx despite that whole section of the 151 got an evolution
Escort quests that although healed your pokemon, slowed the gameplay down
Dialog is flat. I've played diamond and pearl like 4 times over and I still don't really know what the end goal of Galactic (use Time and Space to destroy the world so that they can create a world? But that would kill everyone so...)
Dialog is constant. Your rival talks to you, then Dawn, then team Galactic, then a Prof.Aide, back to Galactic, Now your rival tells you where the next badge is, now there's dialog between you and an escort.
There is nothing wrong with RPG conversations if it is done well. In this case, they use the RPG conversation to push the linear storyline ahead. "Dawn said the next badge is in X city... WHOA SEE YA LATER!!!!!!!"
Typing for the badges is poorly done. You can rush through the game with a chimchar, a shinx, and a shellos caught in the first part of the game and only add an hm servant and someone to fly. Chimchar line can handle 5 of the 8 badges by itself.
Finishing the legendary quest-line feels like an errand to get to the 8th badge and not the apex of the story.
Defog and rock climb are hms that have to be used to progress without a guide, and they are not good in non-meta (rock climb just isn't good)
The soundtrack is like 90% accordion and did not work as well as the Hoenn Trumpets. Notice how Gen 5 doesn't take one instrument to the nth degree in every song?
The game feels empty.
