>>29729449>>Gamers whine when games get delayed or have day 1 patches or are released broken when devs are working 80 hour weeks desperately trying to keep astronomical costs downLiterally no excuse because Japan has made games that are much cheaper because they don't spend $200 million on marketing and try to get Nolan North to voice every single character in the game, and many Japanese companies can find massive success.
Yes, people are always going to pirate, becuase many people like free shit, but it's been statstically proven across every single industry that if you treat your customers well, the more likely they are to actually spend money on your product instead of stealing it or pirating it.
Undertale sold over a million copies and was a massive success for Toby Fox, and had zero anti piracy measures, and do you know why? Because he didn't try to nickle and dime his potential buyers, he didn't insult them or blame them, and he treated them well. All of this $50 season passes for miniscule content, games being shipped otu blatantly half-finished, games being 80+ GBs because they're too lazy to decompress, and then the devs bitching on twitter that it's all YOUR fault isn't going to stop piracy. Treating customers like shit is just going to kame the "customer" want all all the more reason to "stick it to them"
