The Democrats obviously hate him, but the Republicans also want to try and wrest back control of their party in time for 2020 or 2024. If you thought Obama got stonewalled, just imagine how heavily Trump would be. He'd be a lame duck president.
Hillary, however, will only be scrutinized by the GOP, just as Obama has been. Her own party will be spending her term/s running constant damage control on everything she does or has done. She also won't actually solve any of the problems that have arisen over the past eight years; if anything she may make things worse. The causes behind Trump's rise won't simply disappear if he loses. They'll go back to simmering beneath the surface, or worse, begin resulting in explosive outbursts as people grow increasingly dissatisfied with the status quo.
