Kalos really did have the best starters it seems.

>amazing stat distributions (average speed of 93)
>"fast" Dicidueye is barely faster than "slow" Chesnaught
>great designs with typing that reflects the design
>Greninja ended up being amazing in the meta

Dare I say they are the best starters Game Freak ever designed.

They came close. I'm a fucking casual who only cares about design and Chesnaught is frustrating to me. I like the design a lot but his posing is so awkward. Looks like he can't articulate well, got his arms all stuck out. Otherwise I would love it. Greninja's dope. Delphox is a fucking furry, sorry, it always bothered me, but the first two stages are alright.

They put more work into the animation for sure. I thought I would hate Incineroar for the same reason Chesnaught bugs me. Too big an upper body, and would move awkwardly. But actually Incineroar is alright.

I've never seen Sinnoh starters defended more than I have today. I LOVE the region but the starters are literally the worst out of all of the games.

I think Chesnaught would be better received if it had a better model and, instead of only making a spiky shield with its arms, it could also transform its arms into weapons such as a mace, a lance and/or a sword. Because it's not a proper fighter/knight without the knightly weapon. It could also look cool in action.
