Yeah, the tattered remains of Talonflame are still very resolute.

Bravest Bird was absolutely, bar-none, 100% my favorite new Pokemon last gen. Based on an amazing animal, useful, and not so broken that it couldn't be dealt with. You can argue that it was a bit overtuned, but it did not deserve to be "rebalanced" by GameFreak to this degree. Counters would've been fine, ways to block priority would've been fine, but a full-health requirement on a mon that relies on recoil moves and takes 50% damage from Stealth Rock. Fucking criminal. Talonflame is done for, too brave for this world.

It was a blast. A fiery falcon was the kind of Pokemon I always wanted as a kid. We had a lot of fun and when I saw things like Dazzling and Accelerock I knew we'd have to work a little harder. I never expected GF to make our bread-and-butter ability pointless.

My pet bird of 19 years died last week, and now I lose my video game bird, too. Sounds super autistic but it fucking sucks.

Sword Dancer/S.DEF are still going to be very, very good sets.

for example, against the wolf -

252 Atk Sharp Beak Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mew: 122-144 (41.9 - 49.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Fish is a "problem", sure, but it's physical attacker and can be burned easly by S.DEF talonflame.
MAjestic flower dying to flare blitz.

only the friend of the Top-kek is REALLY a problem, but Talonflame will be good this gen, i promise ya.

And even then, it can carry taunt to fuck over nulky water mons.

Jesus christ people are /vp/ really are scrubs if they think Talonflame is such a threat. Jesus christ it's only have 81 attack, weak to stealth rock, and unless it's burning your physical attackers, not even that bulky on his bulk set.
