I don't care about le smogon viability.
It has a cool personality and his ingame model is nice aswell. Stats don't matter for a simple ingame run. And to be honest, people should expect starters to be meh. They are only 530 BST mons that easily get outclassed anyway (unless you're a mon like Greninja that gets a awesome HA).

Definitely not. I just want to feel engaged. My biggest disappointment last gen was no post-game content. I enjoyed it, and then suddenly it was over. Grinding for eggs and natures isn't fun or engaging to me.

I am playing right now and I picked Litten.
Little disappointed about its speed but at least there is no strong starter at all. That's a shame. I prefer if all of them had usable stats and good unique abilities.
