I already knew about prior game with lovecraftian myth in them like shin megemi tensei but aside from nyarlathothep they are just fodder monster and have no important to main plot. Nyarlathtep also was portrayed as humanity's collective subconscious of evil/despair rather than extra-dimensional god like in the lore.
D-reaper is just essentially" weird not-digimon thing" and they are create by human, so they are not comparable from real lovecraftian abomination that exist beyond human comprehensation. If you want to mention digimon at least talk about Dagomon episode, not these pretentious shit.
Etrian odyssey 3 use the straight example of cthulhu/dagon reference like deep ones and abyssal god. Bloodborne boreow the whole element of outer gods and DLC is reference to innsmouth. Dark souls 3 has its religion of the deep thing. I choose to mention these 3 game because they actually use lovecraftian lore and environment, not just glorify name-dropping.
