As for the shiny animations, I like it a lot, but I wish they would make it look a little bit closer to how it was in the third generation.

The shiny animation always bugged me. I like that I have a pokemon with a new color, but I hate seeing sparkles at the beginning. I'd be fine if they came out normally, but during the fight they have a semi-frequent particle emitter that lets off sparkles or something. Nothing that causes the beginning of the fight to last longer.

Gen 5's effect was a bit weak and the sound was way too similar to the healing item sound effect. Gen 2's would definitely be top in my book as well though.

I'm with you homie. I hate how Pokemon has so many little things that slow battles down. I'd have gotten rid of shiny sparkles completely, or made them happen at the same time as coming out of the ball.
